$7,500 K-9 Education Fund to Have Long-term Effect
Wethersfield, CT. January 7, 2017 K9CS, Inc. today announced it has been awarded a $7,500 grant investment from the Petco Foundation to support the K-9 Crime Stoppers K-9 Education Fund.
K-9 CRIME STOPPERS is a nonprofit organization that raises, trains and donates quality K-9s while consulting and developing individual Police K-9 Teams in the Greater Hartford, Connecticut region. Since 1996 K9CS has donated over 50 Police Dogs to communities in need across the United States from their Puppies to Police Dogs program.
This grant was made possible through the Petco Foundation’s annual Helping Heroes fundraising campaign, in partnership with Natural Balance Pet Foods. Each October during the campaign, customers are invited to donate online and in Petco stores across the country to support the life-changing work of service, therapy and working animals.
The Petco Foundation investment will help to educate K-9 Teams with the latest techniques and proven methods. By providing continuing education, K9CS bite work and detection sessions become more advanced, strengthening the safety of the community that the K-9 Officer and his/her partner patrols. K-9 Crime Stopper puppies are donated ready to pass their certification at the top of the class.
“To create the best dog, it takes patience and knowledge,” said Bryan Colletti, K9CS President and Founder. “The Petco Foundation’s support of continuing education helps us teach K-9 Officers how to elevate their training meanwhile helping each other be best prepared for life-saving decisions. One never stops learning.”
